Johannesburg, 30 Oct 2005

Robert Sussman, joint managing director at local network integration and infrastructure management company, Integr8 IT, has been selected as Top Private CIO of the Year 2005 for Africa and joins the ranks of previous winners at the annual African ICT Achievers Awards, including CIO of Old Mutual in 2004 and CIO of Telkom in 2003.

The awards, affectionately known as the "Oscars" of the ICT (Information Communication and Telecommunication) Sector, were presented by Minister of Communications Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri.

In order to facilitate movements and changes within the industry, new award categories have been added to reflect the mood and the dynamics evident in 2005.

In his speech to over 1500 delegates, including the private and public sector leaders, Sussman reaffirmed his commitment and roots to the local African ICT sector.

He has also been honored for his efforts in developing local skills, technology, infrastructure and innovative solutions within the South African and African market.

Integr8 IT was one of only two companies to be nominated as finalists in more than one category in the competition, also being named as a finalist in the ICT Workplace Provider of the Year Award.

Sussman has also been recognized for his efforts to develop local skills, technology, infrastructure and solutions within this competitive market.

"I am really very pleased and honoured to take over the reigns from the CIO of Old Mutual. Essentially this recognition goes a long way to cement Integr8 IT`s roots in South Africa and Africa and, as a fully established and BEE local entity, entrench our levels of proactive managed service and emphasize the value of our nerve centre to provide knowledge transfer to local skills in order to support the African and International markets. Skills development and empowerment are key aspects of trade today and is encouraging to know that our efforts have been recognized by the Department of Communications," says Sussman. "This is testament to the fact that Integr8 IT is still regarded as a leading and reputable IT infrastructure & services company in this dynamic and exciting industry.``
