Government kicks off the new year with a slew of tender advertisements featured in the Government Gazette. Companies that supply printing services have many bids to consider in this, the first tender bulletin of the year.

Department of Basic Education
The department is looking to appoint a service provider or a consortium of service providers to capture provincial data on learner registration and learner test scores for the Annual National Assessment for grades one to six and grade nine in 2012.

South African Council on Higher Education
The council is advertising several of its IT requirements. Bids will be calculated on a preferential point system of 80/20. Bidders should obtain a minimum threshold of 70% on functionality in order to be considered for the next evaluation stages. Shortlisted bidders will be invited to do presentations.
