Hybrid work and hybrid education models are here to stay, demanding advanced solutions to give participants an experience as close to real life as possible. Supporting this, the new Microsoft Surface Hub 2S is now available in South Africa to enhance the hybrid meeting experience, says Johannes Groenewald, General Manager Demand Factory at Tarsus Distribution – the sole official distributors of Surface and Surface Hub in South Africa.

“The Surface portfolio and the new Surface Hub 2S are ideal for sectors such as education, public sector, finance, tech and telecommunications as well as large corporates who collaborate in teams and conduct hybrid meetings with both in-person and remote participants,” Groenewald says.

“Not only does the Surface portfolio seamlessly enhance productivity and participation in hybrid workforces or student bodies, it also delivers measurable value. In fact, Forrester research found that maximising an organisation's ROI from Microsoft 365 Enterprise by using Microsoft Surface devices delivered increased efficiency and productivity worth $16.2 million. End-users equipped with Surface devices saw significant time savings when pairing them with Microsoft 365 Enterprise collaboration and cloud storage technologies, saving on average two hours a day in terms of efficiency and productivity. End-users enjoyed improved collaboration and saved time from the device interface, flexibility and peripherals, while IT saw significant cost and time savings related to device management.”

The Surface Hub 2S is an elegant, portable, interactive whiteboard and Windows 10 video collaboration device with a crisp 4K+ resolution pen and touch screen and enhanced camera, speakers and microphone technology so every participant looks and sounds crisp and clear. Boasting Quad-core 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD3, the Surface Hub S2 delivers over 50% faster graphics and 30% better power efficiency than the original Surface Hub, for an engaging real-life meeting experience for hybrid groups of all sizes.

For a large room meeting with big teams, pair Surface Hub 2S 85-inch with high-resolution enhanced camera and mics, and for smaller spaces and quick huddles, Surface Hub 2S 50-inch is a perfect fit with the Surface Hub 2 Camera, five integrated far-field mics and crystal-clear speakers.

Surface Hub 2S is easily moved between meeting areas, thanks to the Roam Mobile Stand created by Steelcase, and its APC Charge Mobile Battery.

Surface Hub S2 effortlessly and securely connects people working in the office and those working remotely, or links teachers and learners in class with those connecting remotely, for more collaborative, inclusive and efficient meetings everywhere. “Because it integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business, Microsoft business solutions and the free Microsoft education solutions, there is no need for third-party software and complicated integration,” Groenewald says.

A perfect match, Microsoft recently released a major update for Microsoft Teams app for shared space devices, such as the Surface Hub 2S, with new features and experiences. Some new features that are part of this update include coordinated meetings, ability to pin attendees on Surface Hub, proximity-based meeting join on Surface Hub, live captions on collaboration bars and more.

The Surface Hub S2 can be configured and integrated in multiple ways to suit each organisation’s needs. Click here to discover some of the configuration options.
