Enhance your business continuity skills in 2018: ContinuitySA announces training dates

Johannesburg, 16 Jan 2018

ContinuitySA has released its training dates for 2018.

"As business continuity and resilience become more important to boards and shareholders, so the pressure is mounting for the new breed of business continuity professionals to enhance and maintain their skills," says Cindy Bodenstein, Marketing Manager at ContinuitySA.

"We offer a comprehensive training programme over the course of the year to help business continuity professionals gain and enhance the skills they need to fulfil an increasingly important role in business today."

ContinuitySA will offer its flagship five-day Complete Continuity Practitioner Programme in February, April, July and October. This is a comprehensive course, covering all components of Business Continuity Management in detail and includes case studies and practical classroom exercises for those responsible for implementing business continuity management programmes.

"This training is highly recommended as it provides a solid foundation to equip individuals with all the essential skills needed to design, implement and monitor a comprehensive and credible business continuity programme," says Bodenstein.

In March, May, August and November, ContinuitySA will offer another in-depth course for those wanting to qualify as Lead Implementers for ISO 22301, the International Organization for Standardization's standard for business continuity. ISO 22301 provides the international standard against which businesses are audited. However, it does not provide much guidance on how to put the processes in place to satisfy auditors that the organisation is indeed in compliance with ISO 22301.

This training will unpack ISO 22301, and will offer executives tasked with implementing ISO 22301 the practical, rigorous guidance they need to come to grips with what compliance entails.

"People who have done this course confirm that it offers great guidance on how to create a business continuity management action plan that is faithful to ISO 22301," she says. "It is basically a plan-check-do methodology for ISO 22301."

Other training offered over the course of the year include one-day Incident Management and two-day ISO Foundation courses.
