Keynote speakers named for Oracle OpenWorld 2004

Oracle today named the keynote speakers for the upcoming Oracle OpenWorld London 2004 exhibition and conference, being held at the ExCeL Centre in London`s Docklands from 6 to 8 September. Featuring some of the industry`s foremost pundits, the keynote series will address how grid computing and enterprise applications can help European companies significantly improve information management and slash operating and IT costs.

The programme will include addresses by industry leaders, strategic partners and Oracle`s leading visionaries. The keynote speakers include:

* Sergio Giacoletto, executive vice-president, Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa, who will discuss the degree of readiness among European companies for grid computing.

* Charles Phillips, president, Oracle Corporation, who will discuss the growing importance of high-quality information and the emerging technology architectures required to create real business value for the modern enterprise.

* John Manley, director, Application Services Department, HP UK, and Peter Hindle, business manager, Enterprise Solutions, HP UK, who together will look at the reality of utility computing solutions today, and offer a view of where these are headed in the future.

* Ron Wohl, executive vice-president, Applications Development, Oracle Corporation, who will discuss how Oracle provides open, integrated business processes with full business intelligence built in.

* Chuck Rozwat, executive vice-president, Oracle Database Server, on how enterprise grid computing using low-cost, modular systems is now delivering mainframe quality of service and making information management easier than ever.

* Tim Pitcher, vice-president, Northern Europe and Middle East, Network Appliance, who will review how companies can develop storage strategies that help them better manage asset utilisation, safeguard mission-critical data and achieve high levels of performance and availability for Oracle 10g and Oracle E-Business Suite environments.

* Tom Garrison, director, Enterprise Marketing, Intel EMEA, who will talk about how the combination of Intel and Oracle architectures is helping to transform entire industries.

The exhibition hall at the show will give attendees the opportunity to experience first-hand the full range of Oracle products, as well as hear from many of the biggest names in technology, including Accenture, Capgemini, Dell, EMC, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, HP, Intel, Network Appliance and Sun Microsystems.

Participants will also have the choice of attending approximately 100 different interactive sessions where they can question Oracle`s most experienced architects and engineers about the newest applications and technologies. These sessions will cover topics ranging from business intelligence (BI) to customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management (SCM), covering all Oracle`s products for industries, including healthcare, communications and financial services, among others.

5. Oracle Partners

Oracle PartnerNetwork is holding its ISV Forum for the first time in EMEA at Oracle OpenWorld London. At this gathering of more than 500 delegates, both existing and potential ISV partners will learn how to speed industry solution development and ease integration and solution delivery on Oracle products. Charles Phillips, Sergio Giacoletto and Bronwyn Hastings, vice-president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, will keynote at the ISV Forum.
