As part of its mission to digitally train one million African youth by 2024, Digify Africa has rolled out Digify Pro Online, a new upskilling course.

Digify Pro Online, says the digital education provider, is a free, self-paced online digital skills programme that aims to empower youth across Africa.

Running from 3 October to 3 December, the course offers training in digital marketing, social media, digital strategy, introduction to content strategy, paid advertising, data-led decision-making, introduction to e-commerce, and web design with WordPress and digital entrepreneurship.

It is targeted at youth aged 18 to 30 years old, notes Digify Africa, adding it’s ideal for those with limited higher learning opportunities and the unemployed looking to gain a skillset and increase employability.

“Digify Pro Online is the evolution of Digify Pro, our award-winning digital marketing bootcamp, that continues to produce quality digital talent and a skilled pipeline for the digital marketing industries,” says Gavin Weale, founder and CEO of Digify Africa.

“We are thrilled to bring this learning opportunity to more young people across Africa.”

Launched in 2011, Digify Africa leverages e-learning and WhatsApp bot technologies to tackle the digital divide. It aims to promote youth participation in the digital economy through impact-driven digital education training interventions.

Digify Pro Online is made possible through support from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, according to the organisation.

With Digify Pro Online, it will offer interactive learning with live briefs, allowing students to test their knowledge and gain practical experience. In addition, students who complete the curriculum receive the Google certification in fundamentals of digital marketing.

Once they’ve completed the curriculum, participating students will receive assistance with finding employment and freelance opportunities through Digify Africa’s placement programme.
