HP stable gets smallest MFP

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has unveiled its 'most compact colour multifunction printer' yet, the HP LaserJet Pro 100 colour MFP M175nw, reports Maximum PC.

“It's the smallest laser printer in HP's stable and is aimed at small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs),” the company said in a statement.

One of the printer's nifty tricks is the ability to print e-mails, photos, and other documents from mobile devices using HP's ePrint feature.

According to Cnet, the M175nw is also one of the first multifunction laser printers to get HP's new ePrint remote printing service that gives users access to downloadable content directly on the device.

The feature also works on multiple smartphone platforms, including BlackBerry, iPhone, and Palm OS, although HP keeps it business-friendly by omitting the touch-screen that didn't work so well on the inkjet side.

The printer also works with latest GNU/Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu 11.04, writes Muktware.
