With music streaming services and on-the-go entertainment becoming more popular, there has been an increasing trend towards dedicated audio solutions. This trend has been complemented with the influx of wireless earphones, allowing for a more functional solution for everyday use.

Huawei has a strong reputation with true wireless stereo earphones, especially with its FreeBuds series, which has seen successful iterations one after the other.

The latest addition to this line-up is the newly launched Huawei FreeBuds 4i, which continues the tradition of providing consumers with an immersive and comfortable audio experience, complete with high quality sound, active noise cancellation and a long-lasting battery all packed into a compact and stylish design. Let’s take a closer look and see what Huawei’s latest offering brings.

High quality sound

Measuring actual sound quality can be quite arbitrary. However, the physical components can be used as a base to understand what efforts have been taken and what audio levels to expect. With the Huawei FreeBuds 4i, Huawei didn’t want to pull any fast stops, carefully building into it a customised audio unit that aims to deliver high quality sound.

This is made possible mainly by the large 10mm dynamic driver which enables a wider range of amplitudes and stronger bass, while its rear chamber design ensures consistency in sound effects and comfortable listening overall. In addition to this, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i has also received tuning for pop music, including instruments, rhythm and vocals for high quality details.

With all of these components working together, the end result is some seriously high quality sound that makes listening to music or taking calls, or even gaming and movies, much more immersive, creating a better audio experience overall.

Long-lasting battery life

Battery life is always a key factor when it comes to wireless devices: Taking this into consideration, Huawei has built into the Huawei FreeBuds 4i a large high density battery into its compact frame.

This battery provides up to 10 hours of continuous music playback or 6.5 hours of voice calls, with the active noise cancellation turned off. However, keeping it on will give 7.5 hours of continuous music playback and 5.5 hours of voice call. When used with the charging case, users get a total of 22 hours music playback or 14 hours of voice call.

Charging is not a major concern either, because the quick charge technology ensures faster recharge times to get back to usage faster than ever. For example, a simple 10 minutes of charge can give up to 4 hours of use.

Active noise cancellation

A key measure of a good audio experience can be drawn back to how the earphones remove surrounding sounds. Continuing in the tradition of its predecessors, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i comes with active noise cancellation features that come in handy in different scenarios and locations, for example, during shopping, commute, at work or even if they want to just tune out from everything around them. To achieve this noise cancellation, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i uses microphones to detect the ambient noise around the user and then adopts active noise cancellation algorithms to create inverted acoustic waves to cancel it out. During this process, overall sound quality is not compromised and the pressure in users' ears are reduced further.

This does not mean that users are completely shut out and have to keep removing their earphones for a simple conversation or to keep an ear out for announcements. With the Awareness mode feature, all users have to do is simply press and hold on the earbud handle, which allows them to listen to ambient sounds around them and communicate with people without having to take out the earphones.

Compact and comfortable design with intuitive controls

All of this is topped off with compact, comfortable and stylish design that makes it easy to use while also rocking a trendy look. The charging case features a design that fits the user’s palm, while the earphones themselves fit perfectly in the user’s ear, a result of thousands of rounds of comfort tests.

In addition to this, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i also provides an excellent interaction experience, allowing users to control music playback, voice calls and active noise cancellation all with simple gesture touches.

Connectivity is also quick and simple with the Huawei FreeBuds 4i. When connecting with Huawei smartphones running EMUI 10.0 or above, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i uses fast pairing with a quick pop-up notification that prompts when the charging case is opened. Once connected, users can also view all the information regarding battery life and connectivity of the earbuds and charging case separately.

Be it for audio entertainment, on-the-go gaming, movies or even for attending calls, the Huawei FreeBuds 4i ensures that users get top notch quality and an immersive experience at all times, making it a great choice for wireless earphones.
