NetIQ named visionary in leading industry analyst firm's IT Event Correlation and Analysis Magic Quadrant

Johannesburg, 12 Jan 2011

NetIQ today announced that Gartner, Inc has positioned NetIQ in the Visionaries quadrant of the 2010 Magic Quadrant for IT Event Correlation and Analysis report [1].

Gartner's 2010 Magic Quadrant report for IT Event Correlation and Analysis "addresses mature and emerging products that help IT organisations consolidate, analyse and respond to component-level IT infrastructure events, improve event-to-incident/problem resolution processes, and improve alignment between events and business-oriented IT services”.

“Gartner identifies visionaries as forward-thinking and often technically focused, and notes that they have recognised and responded to longer-term trends,” said Ron Hardy, vice-president of Products and Marketing, NetIQ. “We believe that part of the definition aligns with our commitment to customers - to understand their current and future requirements, and to purposely build solutions to meet their needs.”

NetIQ AppManager Suite is foundational to systems and application management. Its support of hybrid physical-virtual infrastructure and unified communications demonstrates its flexibility to support complex, evolving environments. Additionally, its integration with NetIQ Aegis - our IT process automation platform - reduces the event management workload. We are thrilled to be included in the Visionaries quadrant and we feel this positioning confirms our commitment to helping customers achieve success,” said Hardy.

NetIQ AppManager Suite efficiently delivers a centralised view of all servers and resources. It enables comprehensive monitoring, reporting, analysis, diagnostics and resolution for multiple platforms; helping organisations quickly troubleshoot performance and availability issues and proactively prevent problems. NetIQ AppManager enables organisations to:

* Reconcile system and application events with the impact to end-user services and improve prioritization of response.
* Minimise risk when extending the use of technologies such as VMware, Unified Communications, Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange Server, Citrix XenApp and others.
* Keep pace with constant changes in a dynamic environment.
* Cost-effectively deliver tailored services.
* Gain greater control over IT assets and costs.
