The NCC is advertising for managed information security services .

In this week's National Tender Bulletin, security requirements form the lion's share, with the government focused on updating its various efforts, including technology. Of the 12 new tenders advertised in the issue, seven are security related. Software dominates, attracting requests in the double figures. Hardware, meanwhile, manages to pull in half that number, while services barely gets a mention.

Items worth mentioning include the Electoral Commission's procurement department, which must be putting in overtime as it gets its systems up to scratch. Software development houses, on the other hand, have cause to be cautiously optimistic as interest in customisation and greenfield development appears to be slowly growing, attracting one or two requests an issue.

Finally, the close of this week's issue offers pleasing news for the ICT sector in the absence of cancellations. What's more, a total of seven tenders have reached the all-important awards column, albeit for relatively low-value contracts.
