Motorola unleashes 'life proof' Defy+

Motorola has released its new Defy+ MB526 smartphone which comes in a dust-proof design along with water resistant and scratch resistant chassis, writes The Mobile Indian.

Deemed to be the true successor of the Motorola Defy, the new smartphone comes with a 1GHz processor that is fast enough to run the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.

Bearing 3.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass display, the Defy+ also features a 5MP camera for imaging. Motorola aims to release Defy+ in Asia, Europe, and Latin America in couple of months from now.

The Defy+ is faster than its grizzled older sibling - Motorola says 25% faster - packing a 1GHz processor to replace the original phone's 800MHz CPU, notes Cnet.

Faster access to social networking and live widgets is provided by the MotoBlur feature, reveals Mobiletor.com.

The handset also provides services like Google Talk, Google Maps 5.0 with navigation, and Zinio e-magazine which offers an array of publications. A CardioTrainer app is pre-loaded on the device which proves of use during workout sessions.

“Motorola Defy+, our latest life proof smartphone, delivers the endurance and design strength to keep up with even the most demanding lifestyles, along with the social and entertainment capabilities that put friends and fun in easy reach. We designed Motorola Defy+ with all the smartphone features you need for a demanding lifestyle,” commented Alain Mutricy, senior VP, portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility.
