The Blockchain Academy, based in Cape Town, South Africa, has seen tremendous growth over the past two years.
It recently added two new courses to its portfolio:
1. Introduction to the Legal Implications of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain - this course is aimed at both legal and non-legal individuals, and focuses on the potential legal issues as well as current government trends related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. 2. Cryptocurrency Trading for Beginners - this course suits the complete novice trader who wishes to engage with the world of cryptocurrency trading. It provides the basic knowledge necessary to navigate the financial markets. The practical side of using a trading platform is a key focus in this course. Read more here.
The Blockchain Academy has successfully completed training courses in five African countries:
* South Africa - numerous training courses have taken place at our offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and on-site at a suitable venue. Clients include Old Mutual, Standard Bank, ABSA, Strate, Distell and Barclays Africa.
* Zimbabwe - in 2016, the Blockchain Academy travelled to Zimbabwe to present a training course to Golix, the BitFinance exchange, as part of their Blockchain Summer School event.
* Swaziland - in June 2017, our instructor Gavin Marshall presented a two-day training course for the Central Bank of Swaziland. The discussion centred around the opportunities that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies offer financial and non-financial institutions.
* Mauritius - in August 2017, the Blockchain Academy had its first training session with Anglo African Ventures, covering the basics of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, its innovative opportunities for financial institutions, and use cases in trade finance, settlements and clearing, capital markets, and many more.
* Ivory Coast - in November 2017, the Blockchain Academy presented a one-day training course for the African Development Bank on how financial institutions can use the blockchain, and what partnerships they are forming with tech companies and start-ups to facilitate trade finance and cross-border payments, for example.
Further expansion is on the horizon as the Blockchain Academy hopes to reach even more people in more countries in 2018.
