Chairman of SolarCity Elon Musk has revealed the energy services provider is working towards developing a novel approach to solar energy - a roof made entirely out of solar cells.
There are no clues so far as to how the roof will function but buyers will get to customise the design in order to fit with their specific housing design.

Instagram porn scam
Hackers are infiltrating Instagram accounts and altering profiles to contain pornographic imagery that links to adult Web sites, security firm Symantec has found.
Researchers found that the hacked Instagram accounts had sexual images, different profile biography, image and name, and new photos uploaded. Photos tell people to visit the link in a person's profile which is a shortened URL to a Web site.

Anger over racist Snapchat filter
A controversial new Snapchat face filter has drawn outrage from thousands of users describing it as a "racist" caricature of East Asians.
Dubbed "yellowface" by angry users, it contorted facial features and gave users the appearance of slanted eyes.

Russia fines Google $6.75m
Russia's antimonopoly watchdog fined Alphabet's Google 438 million rubles ($6.75 million) on Thursday for competition violations, the latest step in a long-running and high-profile legal battle.
The fine comes ahead of a court appeal later this month by Google against the watchdog's ruling that it violated laws by bundling, or pre-loading, a suite of apps on mobile phones for sale on the Russian market.

VR helps paralysed patients
In an astonishing breakthrough, patients left paralysed by severe spinal cord injuries have recovered the ability to move their legs after training with an exoskeleton linked to their brain - with one even able to walk using two crutches.
The training involved the patients using virtual reality to control a computer avatar with a "brain-machine interface". So when they thought about walking forward, the avatar would move as if it was their body.

Insect-sized spy drone
A tiny remote-controlled aircraft modelled on an insect will become Britain's latest weapon against terror.
The Dragonfly drone - which can fit in the palm of a hand - will spy on enemy positions and gather intelligence for the military and British agents. It is one of the futuristic pieces of kit currently being developed for the Ministry of Defence and the UK's security forces as part of the ministry of defence's new innovation project.
