Shavlik launches application licence manager

Shavlik, a global leader in IT management and innovative security systems, today announced availability of Application Manager for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), an AppSense product. The newly available solution is designed to reduce security risk, control application licences and maximise SCCM investments.

Application Manager for SCCM reduces endpoint security risks and adds value to SCCM application control and endpoint security functions with dynamic whitelisting and highly granular privilege management. Application Manager for SCCM enables IT administrators to:

* Control applications and end-user actions on the endpoint using a centralised console;
* Prevent unknown applications from launching by using Application Manager's Trusted Ownership technology, which automatically blocks user-introduced applications and unknown code, including malware and ransomware;
* Enforce compliance with licence agreements by enabling admins to limit the number of applications instances by user, define the devices or users that can run an application, and determine the timing of application availability; and
* Control end-user privileges with precision, including the ability to manage privileges at the application or individual task level instead of at the session or account level.
