AIIM training solidified by Datacentrix NokusaEI acquisition

The acquisition of EIM specialist NokusaEI by Datacentrix will see the delivery of AIIM training courses solidified in southern Africa.

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2013

NokusaEI has beenSouth Africa's leading enterprise information management (EIM) consulting firm over the last 15 years. The company has partnered with AIIM in southern Africa since 2006, playing an important role in helping the global organisation to deliver its programme in countries such as South Africa and Nigeria. In many important respects, NokusaEI has become synonymous with AIIM training in the broad southern African region.

The December 2012 acquisition of NokusaEI by Datacentrix, one of South Africa's leading empowered services-led solution integrators, will increase the delivery of AIIM training in southern Africa, as training will now take place via an expanded national footprint, which includes Datacentrix's office infrastructure in Durban and Cape Town, as well as Johannesburg.

"We're excited by the enhanced capacity the Datacentrix acquisition will offer us when it comes to AIIM training," says Lidia Basson, NokusaEI Administration and Training Manager. "The training will continue in the same vein as before, and now we have expanded reach and the general support infrastructure provided by Datacentrix, which has always been a larger operation than NokusaEI."

Datacentrix delivers infrastructure and business solutions to the South African market, including cloud computing, high-end storage and security, as well as outsourcing and other related IT services. Servicing the country's public and private sectors, the company's broad reach and wide range of specialisation areas, including NokusaEI's EIM focus, create a powerful foundation for the delivery of AIIM training across southernAfrica.

"Our experience is that AIIM training is a crucial aspect of education within the broad ICT field," adds Basson. "Not only is the training vital for IT specialists and those working with communications technology itself, but also for professionals who deal with the management of information and knowledge - regardless of the technology used. In addition, AIIM training plays an important role for human resources specialists, who need to manage complex systems of information flow. As such, we're looking forward to expanding the work we've been doing with AIIM over the last six years. We believe the training is central to the overall health and vibrancy of the southern African economy."

Founded as far back as 1943, AIIM is a leading global non-profit organisation focused on helping users to understand the challenges associated with managing documents, content, records, and business processes. AIIM sets the global best practice standard in information management, via technology independent training and research activities. AIIM training ensures vendors and users alike gain access to genuinely independent insight and information around all aspects of EIM. The organisation's work ensures all parties understand best practice approaches to information management and are able to select and manage appropriate technologies accordingly.

"We are extremely pleased with the Datacentrix acquisition of NokusaEI," says Andrew Graham, International sales director with AIIM. Graham continues: "NokusaEI has always been a leading international consulting company, specialising in enterprise content management (ECM) strategies, solutions and implementations. In addition, they have been an excellent advocate and training partner for AIIM inSouth Africa, leading and delivering AIIM's educational programs into the region. Similarly, Datacentrix has a major focus on delivering quality ECM solution across many industries inSouth Africa. Both these companies' expertise in ECM, coupled with the training expertise of AIIM, gives the new Datacentrix EIM Business Unit the ability to educate the South African market in information management best practices. We are very much looking forward to working with the new organisation."
