Epson, Sizwe Africa IT Group partner

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2010

Epson has partnered with local technology service provider Sizwe Africa IT Group to strengthen its presence in SA's corporate market.

The company says it appointed Sizwe Africa IT Group to deliver Epson's full range of business products to a number of large organisations throughout the country.

Epson adds that Sizwe Africa IT Group will also be an Epson accredited service provider. “It will bring after-sales technical support directly to its Epson customers, providing face-to-face problem assessment and advice from trained professionals.”

According to Epson's GM for southern Africa, Kelvin Reynolds, the company already has an established retail and consumer presence in the South African market, particularly in the photo printing, desktop printing and home entertainment projector sectors.

However, he says one of its key objectives for 2010 is to make a concerted push into the corporate sector. “This is where we believe we have a number of products and services specifically suited to small, medium and large enterprises.”

Reynolds says the company has been looking for a partner that is big and established enough to service the financial services, telecommunications and government sectors. ”These are the three key verticals for Epson in the coming years with a national footprint and a focus on delivering excellent onsite customer service.”

Tim Modise, CEO of the Sizwe Africa IT Group, says one of the reasons the company decided to form a strategic alliance with Epson was because of the potential of the brand and its products.

“With Epson's extensive product range and the company's emphasis on eco-friendliness and after-sales service, we are confident we can design compelling, energy-saving solutions for our clients,” he says.
