Free gTLD pre-registration.

DiaMatrix launched its new domains.co.za Web site at the beginning of this year. Following hot on the heels of this launch, it is the first ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited SA registrar to offer a pre-registration service for the soon-to-be-launched new gTLDs.

Internet access is continually growing worldwide, as more countries enhance their connectivity infrastructures. This has led to ICANN allowing more than 1 000 generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) to be released into the global marketplace.

These new gTLDs will provide anyone, from an individual to a corporation, the ability to improve and enhance their visibility on the worldwide Web. DiaMatrix has chosen to launch its preliminary selection on its domains.co.za Web site - a first for the South African Internet community.

There are specific gTLD launching stages that will be adhered to, specifically relating to trademarks and brands. Companies will also be able to use the ICANN Trademark Clearinghouse to have their trademarks and brands verified. This verification will ensure the prevention of just anyone being able to register a gTLD that pertains to a trademark or brand.

The DiaMatrix domains.co.za pre-registration service includes pre-registrants being kept up to speed during the gTLD launch process. Pre-registration is free and there is no obligation to register the domains when they are launched. This provides companies with a platform to pre-register now and then have time to discern which domains will be more beneficial for them in the long run. These can then easily be registered online through the domains.co.za Web site.

Currently, the gTLDs available on domains.co.za for pre-registration to the South African public are:

.africa .joburg .capetown .durban .hotel .shop

.blog .music .site .web .wine
