Another bumper edition of the National Tender Bulletin was released, with tenders aplenty as the year begins to wind down.

Of particular interest is the State IT Agency's (SITA's) cancellation and reissuing of the payroll module for the integrated financial management system (IFMS), which is to serve government at national and provincial levels. The tender was last advertised a little over a year ago.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Treasury is not interested in waiting any longer as it advertises for a procurement tool (which falls into the ambit of the IFMS system) for all provincial government departments in KZN.

The tool will also help in identifying spending trends in the province, which will help with spend analysis. The way government procures goods and services has become a strategic objective alongside the need to address the provincial and national empowerment priorities.
