Easy digital receipting

Retailers using the Star TSP100 printer driver now have access to Star Micronics' digital receipting service, AllReceipts. Available in the African market through the Printer Distribution Company (PDC), AllReceipts offers retailers a free-of-charge, fast route to providing the customer with a digital copy of a print receipt as well as access to analytics, an in-store customer survey and device management tools.

"Digital receipting eliminates the issues typically associated with e-mail receipting, including the time taken to record e-mail addresses and the potential problem that these could be taken down incorrectly," explains Frikkie Koegelenberg, CCO of PDC. "The immediate advantage perceived by the customer is the choice to remain anonymous and yet still receive a digital image of the receipt when offered."

With zero development required, AllReceipts works independently of a retailer's POS software. Triggered by a traditional printed receipt, a digital copy of the receipt is sent to the AllReceipts App on the customer's mobile with no e-mail address required. Receipts can only be claimed once and are then deleted, while saved receipts can be viewed by date or by retailer.

The AllReceipts App invites customers to respond to a suite of easily recognisable icons to acknowledge the quality of service received before claiming their latest receipt. All responses are sent to the survey dashboard for analysis, allowing retailers to assess how many customers have claimed receipts and their level of satisfaction at the service received.

In addition to providing digital receipts, AllReceipts offers a number of transaction analysis and device management tools, Kogelenberg points out. "With the device management tool, retailers are able to monitor real time status across the installed base of printers and immediately identify any issues to be addressed with refreshed error status notification on a comprehensive cloud-based dashboard. The link between the device management tool and survey tools further allows retailers to drill down to the exact POS station involved and determine any issues to be resolved."

AllReceipts also offers an Engage NOW feature, which allows the customer to further engage with the retailer by simply touching the retailer's logo on their smartphone to link to the retailer's promotional landing page in order to see promotions, discounts, new arrivals and coupons. "Engage NOW is secure and easily customisable, providing a highly personal customer connection. This feature, along with all the others in the AllReceipts service, makes it an essential tool for future-looking retailers who want to stay ahead of the competition," Koegelenberg concludes.
