Alfresco goes social
Open source software provider Alfresco has released version 3.4 of its paid-support enterprise content management (ECM) product, offering a new focus on social content, reports Information Week.
Alfresco's CTO John Newton says: "Social content management is where the capabilities of social business systems and traditional ECM meet. It is communication and collaboration with a business purpose and it requires a platform that can deliver content for discussion and engagement that then captures the results of that discussion."
The company says Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 is delivered as open source with open standards in order for developers, customers, and partners to manage content and expose repository functionality inside of social business systems.
Motricity to acquire Adenyo
Motricity, a provider of mobile data solutions, has signed an agreement to acquire mobile marketing solutions provider Adenyo, states TMCnet.
Following the agreement, the companies plan to integrate Adenyo's mobile advertising and analytics capabilities into Motricity's mCore platform that features content management and mobile commerce capabilities.
“The power of highly targeted mobile advertising, combined with highly targeted mobile commerce solutions is going to transform the mobile data industry,” says Ryan Wuerch, chief executive officer of Motricity.
SpringCM unveils cloud content management
SpringCM has released the latest version of its cloud enterprise content management platform, says SysCon.
New features include enhanced e-forms and metadata functionality that enable easier and faster deployment of SpringCM for a variety of process automation, workflow and document management applications.
Roger Bottum, vice-president of marketing, SpringCM, says: “Capabilities, such as integration with ERP data and workflow that real business users can configure on their own, make it easier, faster and more affordable for organisations to move away from the on-premises content management trap and start delivering real business value.”
