Alfresco goes social

Open source enterprise content management provider, Alfresco has joined forces with Jive Software to bring content management into the realm of social software, reports CMS Wire.

Alfresco revealed its intentions to be a social content management provider in late January when it released Alfresco Enterprise 3.4.

This partnership with Jive is another step towards Alfresco's goal of being more social.

According to the companies, the integration will be based on Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 using the CMIS open standard, says Business Wire.

Alfresco Enterprise 3.4 is a content platform that can co-exist with social business systems such as Jive to help manage content created by social business systems.

The Alfresco and Jive integration offers cross-platform publishing, common user database, mapping, synching, as well as standards-based integration, states eContent Mag.
