Wiley buys rights to Wrox Press

Johannesburg, 12 Jul 2003

Intersoft is excited to announce that in April 2003, John Wiley and Sons Inc (`Wiley`) acquired the assets and publishing rights for 36 Wrox Press (`Wrox`) titles; this includes the Wrox trademark, works-in-progress and all websites/domain names related to the works. Wrox will become a Wiley imprint and these 36 Wrox titles will be assigned the Wiley ISBN prefix.

What makes these books so special that Wiley jumped at the chance to add them to its publishing line? In the niche market of professional programming, programmers need practical references, which cover today`s innovative technology. No fluff fattens these books. They are thorough, one-stop sources of information, which deliver real-world techniques and sample code; and Wiley intends to uphold both the publishing philosophy and the high standards for which these titles are known.

Wiley will publish the following series under the Wrox imprint: the Beginning Series, Professional Series, the Programmer`s Reference Series, the Problem-Design-Solution Series, and the Expert One-on-One Series.

Of course, neither Wiley nor Intersoft will accept any returns of existing Wrox Press stock. As sales of the imprints begin, only returns of the 36 purchased titles that were invoiced by Intersoft - easily identifiable by the Wiley ISBN prefix - will be accepted for return.

Intersoft`s Sales & Marketing Director, Ronald Woolf, was elated to report that Wrox Press titles will, for the first time in Southern Africa, be available off the shelves at competitive and affordable retail prices. "In the past we`ve seen these books sold in the stores at inflated prices, because the titles were being brought into the country through third parties. But as Intersoft is Wiley`s exclusive supplier of IT books, we will be able to distribute the titles directly from source."

The Wrox titles should appear on the shelves nationwide during August 2003.
