Software AG initiates advisory council

Software AG has introduced the Software AG BPM Advisory Council, reports Bobs Guide.

This independent panel will help Software AG develop new strategies for the use of business process management (BPM) technology to improve customers' operational performance.

Their insight and expertise will also contribute to the ongoing development of webMethods BPMS, Software AG's top-ranked process design, execution, monitoring and management platform.

BEA gets BPM feedback

BEA Systems has released a new assessment tool for organisations looking to rate their BPM strategies, says ITWeek.

The tool takes the form of a five page questionnaire containing 22 questions, and the feedback given teaches a level of BPM best practice depending on the questions answered.

"As far as measurement is concerned, our self-assessment tool is designed to help a company evaluate whether or not it has some work to do to catch up with competitors, or if indeed it is ahead of them," said Martin Percival, BEA Systems spokesman.

Vitria offers Web 2.0

Vitria Technology has released a Web 2.0 BPM suite that empowers business users to directly model, manage, monitor and optimise their business processes, reports ThomasNet.

Business analysts can now model and execute business processes in a Web-based environment, thereby reducing the development cycle, saving companies millions of dollars and enabling a truly agile enterprise.

Up until recently, the modelling and collaboration capabilities of BPM solutions were constrained by a technological gap that kept business analysts and IT professionals separated.
