Hytera ensures smooth communication for WGC-HSBC 2014

WGC-HSBC 2014 closed as a great success in Shanghai on 9 November, for which Hytera, the official radio supplier, provided almost 200 units of digital two-way radios and overall communication solution for scoring management, ruling, security and hospitality.

Behind the frequent refreshing leader-board of the fierce and tight four-day tournament was a professional scoring management team from the European Tour.

The team provides instant data to several relevant Web sites like WGC, HSBC Golf, PGA Tour and European Tour for their online broadcasting, which is a critical part of the overall operation and has substantial demand for real-time communication.

"The radio on the course is vital for us to get the first-hand information from the tees," said Paul White, Scoring Services Manager of European Tour. "Radiowise this week, it's been very good quality supplied by Hytera... the reception has been very clear around the whole golf course, which can make our job easier. Without the clarity, we would be struggling to hear the correct information," White added.

During the whole game period, Hytera DMR portable terminal PD688 with brilliant metal frame design can be seen everywhere around the course on the scorers, referees, marshals, IMG staff and PGA officials.
