COBIT has always been the cornerstone of the ITWinners education platform. With King III providing specific guidelines to ensure effective IT governance, it has been necessary for directors to ensure an IT governance framework is in place and that there is alignment of IT with the performance and sustainability objectives of the company. COBIT has provided the much-needed guidance for the business, including risk and audit committees, to assist the board in carrying out their IT responsibilities.

Leader of the Deloitte IT Governance Centre of Excellence, Gary Hardy, is ITWinners' COBIT facilitator. He was one of the originators of the COBIT initiative in 1992, and has been a key member of ISACA's COBIT development team for the past 20 years. He has been a lead developer of all COBIT versions, including COBIT 5, and has acted as an advisor to ISACA.

Often referred to as "Mr COBIT", Hardy is the author of many of the ISACA IT governance guidance publications, and was instrumental in initiating the COBIT education programme in 2003. Hardy is also an architect of the ITpreneurs IT governance education portfolio.

ITWinners' new COBIT 5 Foundation "plus" class is accredited by APMG and provides practical guidance and full explanation of the Enabling Processes Guide, in addition to the theory required to pass the Foundation exam. Its next class will run inCape Townon 13 and 14 May.

Complementing COBIT, ITWinners is pleased to offer training in the following domains this year:

* ITIL (IT service management)
* ISO27001 (information security)
* PRINCE2 (project management)
* TOGAF (enterprise architecture)
* Cloud computing.
