Vox Telecom becomes Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise channel partner to drive strategic communications offers in South Africa

Johannesburg, 24 Jun 2015

Vox Telecom has recently completed two rigorous processes to become the first, and only service provider in South Africa, to offer SIP services, and become a channel partner for ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand.

"Although separate, the processes and requirements for each of these strategic investments by Vox Telecom, will further entrench an already longstanding and successful relationship with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

We look forward to working together to expand communications options for businesses in South Africa," says Murray Steyn, head of Communication Services at Vox Telecom.

As a direct channel partner, customers will have access to better pricing, and world class technical support from Vox Telecom, while also gaining the peace of mind that comes from having the backing of one of the leading global communication brands.

"Vox Telecom is a leading telecoms service provider in South Africa committed to delivering cutting-edge technology in the enterprise and consumer sectors. It is for this reason that we are proud to have partnered with Vox Telecom on our South African go to market," says Ravin Naidu, regional director, Sub Saharan Emerging Africa, ALE.

Adds Steyn, "The process of securing a direct channel relationship, and SIP Interoperability certification is rigorous, and should reassure customers that have, or are evaluating communication solutions, that we are their partner of choice."

The certification and approval of SIP trunks means that as a voice service provider, Vox Telecom's voice products work optimally with the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Voice platform. But the biggest advantage is the cost savings because there is no requirement for third-party hardware costs that are otherwise required as part of turnkey voice solutions.

"Our relationship with Vox Telecom is instrumental in strengthening our presence within South Africa, as it offers a new path to the market and exposes Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions to prospects that are looking for an innovative and comprehensive suite of enterprise solutions," says Naidu.

Concludes Steyn, "We are committed to providing our customers with turnkey solutions, to enhance their communication and networking infrastructure and working with a global leader like Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise helps us to continue to build on this vision."
