The first National Tender Bulletin of 2013 is a whopper, including adverts from a variety of national and provincial departments, but particularly government organisations.

The issue reveals two interesting review initiatives being planned within the public sphere, namely the Department of Public Service and Administration's review of the Government Wide Enterprise Architecture Framework; and Wesgro's review and impact assessment of the programmes of the Bandwidth Barn and Cape IT Initiative, namely: My Business Group, Women in ICT, VeloCITI, VeloCITIY and My Mentor.

Education also enters the mix, with an advertisement from the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) for the provision of ICT support to multi-grades classrooms for the Department of Basic Education; as well as an invitation from the Gauteng Department of Finance for proposals for "innovative solutions" to deliver the Gauteng on Line School?s Programme.

Finally, an advertisement from the South African Medical Research Council for a "comprehensive, reliable and secure high-definition videoconferencing and digital media audio presentation solution to various locations in Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria" calls to mind an old Telkom television advert where a surgery is assisted by expert advice via videoconferencing.
