Clarotech appointed SA's only Digium Authorised Training Partner

Clarotech Consulting announces it has been appointed as the Authorised Training Partner (ATP) for Digium's Asterisk software courses in South Africa.

Clarotech will offer two accredited training courses in southern Africa:

* Asterisk Fast Start
* Asterisk Advanced with dCAP exam

The training will be performed by a 1.8 Digium Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP) in a lab environment providing individual attention. Working to the Digium curriculum, the course will give participants a working knowledge of VOIP principles and Asterisk internals, together with practical exercises with real-world application.

Clarotech Consulting, a Digium Pinnacle Partner, has been implementing and supporting Digium's products for more than seven years. The company's Managing Director, Colin Fair, says the demand for proper face-to-face training for Asterisk is growing. "Because of the number of businesses requiring feature-rich, affordable alternatives for their phone systems, the number of people who need to be trained on Asterisk-based systems has increased exponentially. We need accredited courses in southern Africa and we're delighted we have been appointed to run these."

Until now, Asterisk users have only been able to do an online course - Asterisk Essentials - or take part in uncertified ad hoc sessions. The introduction of the certified and authorised courses provided by Clarotech means the most up-to-date certification is now available on a regular basis.

"We want to unite and develop the Asterisk community in South Africa. By running these certifications locally, we hope to facilitate the professional deployment of Asterisk-based solutions," commented Fair. The courses are aimed at Asterisk administrators and engineers who want to expand their Asterisk knowledge as well as gain Asterisk certification in the Asterisk Advanced course (a coveted accolade in the Asterisk community).
