RMB Unit Trusts rebrands

Johannesburg, 24 May 2000

RMB Unit Trusts has announced that it is being rebranded as RMB Investment Services. The reason for the rebranding, says RMB, is because of a broadening in the range of products offered, beyond only unit trusts.

It brings it together with a broader business arm, RMB Financial Services, which was set up in 1995 to manage structured and capital guarantee products. The two business units will now be branded as RMB Investment Services.

"RMB Unit Trusts has also undergone a complete change in its investment distribution channel, and this provided further impetus in the decision to rebrand," says Lara Warbuton, executive director (sales and marketing) at RMB Investment Services.

RMB Investment Services stopped distributing its products through Momentum Distribution Services, and now deals directly with financial advisors. RMB Investment Services says this will allow it to control the quality of service levels extended to clients, give it a distribution centre dedicated to the marketing and sale of solely RMB Investment Services` products and provide a consistent company image.

RMB Unit Trusts was established in 1994 as the retail arm of RMB Asset Management, and is responsible for the sale and marketing of RMB unit trusts. RMB Asset Management will continue to operate in its capacity as manager for all RMB`s unit trust portfolios.
