Zensar Technologies conducts knowledge sessions on Living Digital at Tshwane University of Technology

Zensar Technologies has recently announced its collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) as part of its Skills Development Programme. Under this understanding, the company will partner with the university to help provide platforms and opportunities for fresh ICT graduates to enhance their employability skills.

Taking this initiative ahead, the company organised a special knowledge session, titled: "Living digital" for TUT students at Soshanguve South Campus. The same was presented by Prameela Kalive, EVP and Head, Application Business Solutions at Zensar. Attended by more than 150 students, the session focused on global changes in the IT industry landscape, digital business transformation, upcoming technologies, evolving and inspiring areas like RPA, AI and other automation opportunities.

The participants included students and faculty heads from across streams like computer engineering and computer science.

Prof Maredi Mphahlele, Executive Dean: Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, in his welcome address, said: "All of you gathered here are going to get valuable insights from the industry experts, who are with us."

Kalive charted a journey for students on various opportunities, skills and the dynamically changing technology landscape. She mentioned: "When we hire talent, we look for technical skills, but having the right attitude is also very important. Our internship programme, which has been a successful one, focuses on motivated individuals, who can think and enable themselves for solving business problems. An individual with the right attitude can enable many doors to open for an exciting career."

Harish Lala, Sr Vice-President and Head Africa, shared examples of the company's success stories in the digital journey, and how we are adding value in solving business problems for companies in the region. He gave an engaging perspective on the way the IT landscape has been evolving over the last few years, and the positive impact of technology disruption on business and the communities. He also mentioned ZenLabs, the company's innovation facility in India. Attendees were able to see the new facility via a video.

He added that Zensar will continue to conduct events and sessions in future for students with the objective to have knowledge exchanges and perspectives on various IT trends. Future sessions will focus on insights on digital technologies, IT infrastructure, e-commerce, mobility, analytics and cloud, etc. On this journey, Zensar will also conduct workshops for related topics for the selected students at Zensar facilities, to enable the real-life experience. He mentioned the space in which we are living is changing every day, and we have to be on our toes to understand and adopt the need for the demand of skills in the IT sector.

Students went back with information that would help them in their future career related decisions.
