New tilting Targus mobile display from Axiz

Johannesburg, 01 Mar 2007

Leading IT infrastructure distributor, Axiz, has announced the immediate availability of the Targus Ergo D-Pro and Ergo M-Pro notebook stands. Offering multiple tilt positions to hold your notebook in a vertical position, these new toys allow a notebook LCD to be used as a display.

In addition, using a practical height adjustment feature, both products ensure the LCD screen is positioned in the most ergonomic position for a user's eye-line.

"The number of mobile workers is on the increase. Products like the Ergo notebook stands from Targus not only support these workers, but also extend the capabilities of a notebook," says Stefanie Bosman, Axiz product manager, mobile accessories and peripherals.

The Ergo D-Pro notebook stand is a good example of Bosman's theory regarding extended notebook capabilities. With the addition of a separate module, the notebook stand can also support OEM docking stations in the upright configuration.

Connectivity provides seamless integration for use with a mobile docking station, while there is also a security lock slot for cables, which ensures the user is able to secure the notebook stand and peripherals. The Ergo D-Pro notebook is also compatible with the Targus Video Port Lock, which is a combination lock that features a patented pass-through video port cable so users don't have to sacrifice computer functionality for security.

Other additional features include a compartment that can store a mobile docking station or USB hub and a document holder, which is positioned directly in front of the notebook user. "There is also a rotating base which enables you to share your notebook screen with someone sitting next to you," adds Bosman. The stands also have an open back, which improves cooling and heat-dissipation of the notebook.

The Ergo M-Pro notebook stand is a true mobile product and is compact, thin and lightweight. It has five tilt positions to hold the notebook in a vertical position for display purposes. As with the Ergo D-Pro, it also incorporates a document holder, which is positioned directly in front of the notebook user.

"Importantly, when not in use, the Ergo M-Pro will collapse into a relatively flat product, so it can be packed away and easily transported," says Bosman. When folded, the device dimensions are 31 x23 x 1cm and it weighs 485 grams.
