Spescom DataVoice has been awarded Siemens HiPath Ready Advanced certification for the DataVoice HiPath CAP 2 recording solution.
Spescom DataVoice is the voice transaction management operation of multinational technology innovator Spescom.
According to Siemens Telecommunications and Product Marketing, Divisional Manager, Fred Maurus, the globally acclaimed Siemens HiPath Ready programme is aimed at encouraging third-party suppliers to test and certify their developments relating to HiPath systems.
"Voice recording is becoming more and more important for our customers and adds value to our HiPath communication platforms. In this regard, Spescom DataVoice is our preferred supplier for voice recording solutions in SA."
According to Spescom DataVoice technical director, Sakkie Nel, the stringent world standard certification process was carried out at Siemens' European Laboratories.
"The Ready Advanced certification process tests the DataVoice Recording system's ability to function under normal and adverse conditions, as well as its ability to safely interact with Siemens technology," says Nel.
Siemens HiPath CAP (common application platform) 2 is an open standards integration platform that supports the range of Siemens HiPath PBX systems. HiPath provides a smooth migration path from traditional circuit-switched telephony to the latest in VOIP telephony.
Nel notes that DataVoice's ability to support CAP 2 ensures that customers receive comprehensive solutions that offer additional benefits like VOIP recording capabilities.
"The DataVoice HiPath Recording solution provides a multi-domain recording system which means that customers deploying a HiPath PBX network can utilise one platform at a central point to record network-wide traffic. This translates to a more cost-effective solution.
"The product can detect and gracefully handle PBX link failures, support digital enhanced cordless telecommunications, and also record attendant console or switchboard communication.
"Spescom DataVoice was one of the first companies to achieve this seal of approval from the world technology giant, which provides the customer with the assurance that our products are compatible with the Siemens communication platforms," concludes Nel.
