At KYOCERA Document Solutions South Africa, we understand that it's tough out there right now and we've taken it upon ourselves to not only do as well as we possibly can as a business, but to help others get there too, says Sharon Peche, Marcom Manager at KYOCERA Document Solutions South Africa.
Now, more than ever, South Africa needs entrepreneurs, but getting the right help isn't always easy, and people with the all-important entrepreneurial spirit, don't know where to start looking for support.
To that end, it has partnered with The Investment House to help fledgling businesses get off the ground, by supporting them through an incubation programme, and providing whatever goods and services we can, to help grow their organisations.
The 12-month incubation programme includes training - both Business Mind Intensive and Business Intelligence Intensive - as well as regular coaching and mentoring, and financial management services.
The first is Nteta Cleaning Services, a small start-up that "is committed to creating fresh, clean, pleasant and environmentally friendly spaces for people to live and work in." KYOCERA Document Solutions has paid its incubation fees, and committed to using its cleaning services on an ad hoc basis.
The second is Dreamworks Printing, run by owner Talitha Chetty. KYOCERA Document Solutions sent over three printers along with toners and cartridges that Chetty has used to get her business idea off the ground, and have done all the necessary installation and software configuration that was needed.
She wrote KYOCERA Document Solutions a lovely letter of appreciation that read: "Thank you KYOCERA, for believing in my business idea and helping me to grow my business and to become a successful entrepreneur as it grows with the help from The Investment House. My business is still growing, I have done some booklets, documents and flyers for now. And this has helped me save on costs."
The third business is Platinum Water Express Hartbeespoort, a bottled water-delivery service owned and run by Koos Smit. KYOCERA Document Solutions has paid the company's incubation fees for the next 12 months, and it procures branded bottled water from them.
It will continue to seek out opportunities to help local businesses get off the ground; it has had a great deal of success so far, and looks forward to much more in the future and beyond.
