MTN SA has appointed Ahmad Farroukh as its new CEO, with Zunaid Bulbulia moving to the position of group chief operating executive. Both appointments are effective immediately, the company says.
"In order to respond adequately to challenges and opportunities in our markets, we continue to take appropriate steps to enhance our competitive position, and to ensure the long-term sustainability of our business," said MTN in a statement.
According to the company, the latest changes are in line with Its strategy to regularly rotate key talent within the business.
Bulbulia is a founding member of MTN and was CFO of MTN SA, prior to being appointed CEO. Farroukh is a former CEO of MTN Nigeria, and served in a similar role at MTN Ghana.
MTN says Bulbulia and Farroukh will continue serving on the group executive committee.
