The ICT sector is favoured this week, despite ongoing caution amidst government procurement officers. Nevertheless, it is the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) that stands out in the latest National Tender Bulletin.
Rarely seen, ICASA returns to amend the tender placed last week and issue another new tender for a band optimisation solution. Its former advert for spectrum value determination has had its deadline extended and the non-compulsory briefing has been postponed and changed to compulsory.
Elsewhere in the bulletin, software is in high demand hitting the double digits, followed closely by a combination of support-related and other services. Hardware, on the other hand, continues its trend of low demand.
The issue closes with a low key results section with less than a handfull of cancellation and award notices respectively. That which does make it to the contract stage this week falls under the R20 million mark.
