ITWeb's Brainstorm magazine has once again partnered with Digital Skills Academy in order to present a bursary worth US$10 000 to a lucky Brainstorm reader.

The competition is now in its second year and aims to provide an opportunity to young South African professionals working mainly in the professional services, ICT, Telecoms, Finance, consulting services and technology.

The closing date for applications for the 2018 Digital Talent Bursary is 4 March 2018, and the successful candidate will be announced in the May issue of Brainstorm.

The winner will have the opportunity to study one of the academy's International Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) Degree programmes.

Last years' winner was Themba Tshamano, a 31-year-old technical business analyst at Standard Bank.

"What is particularly exciting for me is the course's focus on practical implementations, innovation and entrepreneurship," said Tshamano. "These are all areas I feel will help me develop as a well-rounded professional who can deliver real value to the company I work for."

Paul Dunne, CEO and Founder of Digital Skills Academy, said, "As a leading international provider of online degrees and CPD programmes for working professionals, we have clear synergies with Brainstorm magazine and are proud to renew our partnership with the publication of choice for CIOs and IT executives in South Africa."

"This bursary is designed to reward a high potential ICT professional with a valuable opportunity to enhance his or her digital skills and with long-term benefits for both the professional and the company they work for,"

Ranka Jovanovic, Editorial Director of ITWeb and Brainstorm magazine, said that "going digital" is often a vague promise, with many businesses not sure where and how to start and what skills they'd need. "The Digital Skills Academy's learning-by-doing methodology is designed to help working ICT professionals build capacity immediately applicable to their company's operations."
