Royal Bafokeng Holdings selects Sage ERP X3, gets ready for 2010 World Cup kick off

Johannesburg, 30 Apr 2010

Royal Bafokeng Holdings (RBH), responsible for the management and development of the commercial assets of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, recently selected Sage ERP X3 to support the company's complex structure and inter-company processing. As a host city for the 2010 World Cup as well as the England team, RBH wanted to ensure it selected the powerhouse of ERP systems.

Lucas Ndala, Director: Group Finance, RBH, says Sage ERP X3 will improve processing efficiencies and optimise the processing of inter-company transactions.

“We also anticipate that the system will improve monthly reporting timelines as a result of the centralisation of information.” He says the company, which previously used Accpac ERP, will operate using one uniform system, thus eliminating the use of different accounting software in various entities.

RBH was also looking for a system that would provide workflow of business processes. Sage ERP X3 enables companies to automate the flow of information within and outside a business based on company-specific work practices and procedures for handling important and exceptional events.

Ashley Regenass, director, Synergy, says unlike traditional systems that come with predefined workflow processes, the extensive parameterisation available within Sage ERP X3 makes it possible for RBH to define any business event and condition to initiate workflow messaging and/or trigger processing. “It makes it easy to automate traditional paper-based and task-intensive processes such as purchase requisition signatory approvals and credit manager reviews of orders placed on credit hold.”

“Workflow is a vital business enabler within Sage ERP X3,” says Keith Fenner, vice-president sales - Africa, Softline Accpac. “It assists in streamlining business operations, but is not prescriptive, fitting in with the customer's own rules and procedures for handling key and exceptional events. It also provides users with work schedules based on customised processes or workflow circuits.”
