Emulex intros networking VAR programme

Emulex, a storage network infrastructure provider, has unveiled its Emulex Edge Partner Programme, according to eChannelLine.

The programme is designed to respond to changes in the market and enhance skills and opportunities for converged networking value-added resellers.

"We had a channel programme before, and the fundamental reason we changed it is because of the network convergence products we are now shipping," says Shaun Walsh, vice-president of corporate marketing at Emulex.

Mahindra Satyam repositions

Software exporter Mahindra Satyam will be repositioned as a complete ICT firm from just an IT outsourcing player, reports The Economic Times.

Tech Mahindra bought Satyam in April and encouraged by the addition of 35 new clients is focusing on expanding service horizons by investing in building new technologies.

The company is focusing on new areas like digital convergence, as it continues to strengthen its five verticals - manufacturing, financial, healthcare, retail and consumer product.

HP focuses on converged data centres

An HP company executive says a wide portfolio and efficient supply chain will make HP's new converged infrastructure model a compelling proposition for enterprises, states ZDNet Asia.

Adrian Jones, VP and GM for enterprise storage, servers and networking at HP Asia-Pacific and Japan, says the latest development was in response to a changing market and the realisation that HP could "do a better job driving home the [convergence] message than anyone else".

Citing a recent HP-sponsored study, Tokyo-based Jones noted that over 90% of senior executives believe business cycles will continue to be unpredictable over the next few years.
