NMP accredits Mediswitch for speedy electronic claims processing

National Medical Plan (NMP) is implementing MediSwitch`s real-time electronic data switch to enable medical service providers to check patients` membership eligibility details online and submit claims electronically. MediSwitch, a division of JSE-listed USKO Limited, is a virtual private healthcare network that enables the healthcare industry to access and transport healthcare-related content and data.

MediSwitch partners n-Med in delivering electronic connectivity to SA`s healthcare industry

MediSwitch, a division of the JSE listed USKO, has announced its strategic alliance with the n-Med Group. Under the agreement, MediSwitch will become n-Med`s preferred connectivity partner for all its medical software applications for a seven year period. As a result, n-Med`s Delta 9 switch, which currently facilitates hospital claims transfer to medical funders, will be gradually superceded by MediSwitch.

Doctors` systems now MediSwitch enabled

MediSwitch said it is currently partnering various software houses with doctor practice management systems to embed MediSwitch communication API into their applications. The MediSwitch enabled versions of these applications will connect 7000 doctors directly to the MediSwitch Virtual Private Healthcare Network allowing them to do online member eligibility checking as well as batch electronic claims transfer to participating medical aids. The applications already MediSwitch enabled are Multidoc (Clinical Computer Systems); Ultrimate Medix (MBM Computers); Med-It (Med-It Marketing); Medsolve 2000 (Medsolve) and Winorion (Orion Medical Management).
