Africa`s lack of telecommunications infrastructure is the most important economic issue currently holding back the continent`s development, said Sean Moroney, group chairman of AITEC Africa, at yesterday`s opening of the ACT summit in Pretoria.
Telecommunications regulators from 12 African countries have launched a Community of African Regulators at the recent ACT 2000 Summit held at Sun City.
On day four of ACT 2000, delegates are still soaking up as much information as possible. Although several events didn`t go quite as planned, all the stakeholders are happy, and will return to ACT 2001.
