Freda du Toit

Chairman and co-founder of Kgali Investment Holdings.

Freda du Toit is chairman and co-founder of Kgali Investment Holdings. After earning a BSc Honours at North West University, she graduated from a position as IT manager at Momentum Life to co-found a financial services solutions company, SDT, which was listed on the JSE AltX through SilverBridge Holdings. The company, under her direction, became a market leader in the long-term insurance industry. Du Toit played a fundamental role in redefining the way insurers do business. She was responsible for business development, identifying funding, enterprise development, sales, product design, product positioning, market research and software development. Du Toit took her experience in these fields and applied them at Katlego, a company providing specialist FICA and RICA administration solutions; and founded Kgali, together with CEO Oupa Moumakwe. At Kgali, Du Toit applies her decades of experience to help companies grow their business. With a particular focus on Africa, she has created a network of value for a number of business partners, with synergistic results for both parties. She helps companies identify funding opportunities, opens new markets, and generally works hard to unlock latent wealth. Du Toit is a TOGAF certified enterprise architect, a member of the Institute for Independent Business International and acts as a mentor for Microsoft's Women in IT initiative.
