Apple upgrades Core

Core Group has been appointed the independent marketing company for Apple in southern Africa.

Core, which has been Apple`s sole distributor in the region for several years, says an independent marketing company can be described as a "virtual subsidiary".

It allows Apple the flexibility to adapt its operations to local situations in certain economies while maintaining control over the business.

Core director Rutger-Jan van Spaandonk says he is pleased with the appointment.

"We see it as a reward for the investments that we have made and as a vindication of the that we have followed since our appointment as Apple`s sole distributor in 2001," he adds.

"Our enhanced role and responsibilities will give us even more scope to provide our customers with the best possible computing experience."
