Arivia.kom wins airports deal

Arivia.kom has a five-year contract as the preferred ICT service provider to Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), with a minimum value of R68 million over the period.

[VIDEO]As part of the deal, arivia.kom will fulfil a key role in the implementation of ACSA`s IT strategy.

ACSA has budgeted about R150 million over the next four years on various strategic IT projects as part of its overall airports ICT strategy and alignment for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

"2010 is not the primary focus of the partnership, but it is an important milestone," said Arivia.kom CEO Zeth Malele in announcing the deal today.

Some of the strategic initiatives include enterprise-wide technology architecture and a technology and infrastructure renewal, coupled with a business process and information re-engineering exercise as well as a renewed management information system.

[VIDEO]ACSA Executive Director: Finance and IT Brooks Mparutsa, said ACSA`s ICT investment had been lagging during the past two to three years, and it had decided to "ramp up" its investment through the partnership.

Both also noted that they have plans to expand into the rest of the continent.
