Local telecommunications business Huge Telecom is attempting to expand its reach through a channel partner programme.
The company says it has appointed cellular veteran Greg Wright to head up a newly-created channel and distribution division, starting at the beginning of next month.
“We are very excited to bring Wright on board and look forward to his team's strong performance under his leadership,” says Huge CEO James Herbst.
According to Herbst, Wright's appointment will help the company to establish a group of channel partners and distributors, a previously weak focus for the company. “In order to be able to effectively deliver market-leading telecommunications products to our customers, we need to grow our network of resellers and partners,” he adds.
According to the company, Wright pioneered fixed cellular routing in 1997 for the then Radiospoor and grew the division through Autopage Cellular as GM of its fixed cellular division for a period of five years.
Huge says he also has experience in sales, marketing, distribution and consulting, and headed up national sales at Telemasters, a least-cost routing provider listed on AltX. “Given Wright's track record and considerable achievements, we feel he is uniquely qualified to deliver on this mandate,” notes Herbst.
Huge was recently hit by a spate of bad debt and needs to increase its access to market while keeping costs down. The new channel division is in line with the company's strategy to find growth that is sustainable in the local telecoms market.
