The system is able to meet the legal requirements for e-mail retention through managing mails in an active, rule-based and business process orientated manner to fulfil the entire e-mail lifecycle requests. Fujitsu Siemens Computers has completed its own major Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 consolidation project to redevelop an internal Exchange infrastructure. With offices around the EMEA and over 7 000 employees, the company handles a massive quantity of e-mails daily. The launch of Microsoft`s new Exchange Server 2003 solution - which includes key functions for consolidation - led to Fujitsu Siemens Computers` decision to consolidate its mail infrastructure consisting of 60 servers in about 40 locations on two core Exchange Server sites with less than 10 servers.
The results of the project speak for themselves, with the company`s IT department estimating overall cost savings of about 40%. Fujitsu Siemens Computers has therefore taken this proven approach and used it to create easyXchange.
