Local IT hardware assembler Matomo Technologies will be the only Hewlett-Packard advanced local configuration (ALC) programme partner to assemble the HP Compaq dc5700 small form factor business desktop PC.
A subsidiary of JSE-listed Simeka BSG, Matomo produces desktop PCs through HP's ALC programme. Since 2002, the company has assembled over 330 000 HP desktops for the local market.
Yesterday, HP SA noted the country was selected as the only ALC country to assemble the dc5700 locally.
"This marks an important milestone for us - and bears testimony to the high standards of local manufacturing," said Stefan Minihold, ALC programme manager for HP SA.
