Solutions provider Square One Solutions Group is planning to list on the JSE's IT sector on 13 April.
Square One describes itself in its prospectus as an IT company providing solutions for document sharing, Internet technology, e-commerce, data storage, variable data product marking, consulting and value-added services.
The company was founded in 1986 as a Hewlett-Packard product distributor, refocusing its strategy in early 1994, when it became the sole Tektronix colour printing and imaging distributor for South Africa.
It is planning to list 22 million shares with a nominal value of 1c each and an offer price of 200c each.
The company forecasts operating profit of R9.4 million on turnover of R160 million for the year to 31 December 2000, compared with a pro forma R5.2 million operating profit on turnover of R122.8 million for the 1999 financial year.
It is forecasting 25.6c earnings per share for the 2000 financial year.
"A large portion of Square One's turnover is currently derived from the importation and distribution of printing hardware and software," the company says in the prospectus.
"This element of the group's operations substantially benefits the company and will act as the platform whereby future activities involving the Internet, e-commerce and knowledge-based solutions will be funded."
