The Gaming Corporation (iGaming) has posted interim results reflecting an operating income of R6.6 million, meeting pre-listing forecasts.

Listed on the venture capital sector, iGaming debuted on the JSE on 10 August.

The group`s business is the sale of fully developed and operational Internet gaming Web sites. It also sells the software developed to operate Internet casinos.

iGaming reported operating income of R6.6 million for the six months to 31 August after a month of trading on the JSE.

Headline earnings of 6.87c were posted for the period, with attributable earnings of R5.5 million.

The group says income was boosted by the weak currency as all its income is derived in dollars while operations and development is paid for in rands.

iGaming warns investors that it is currently involved in negotiations with a listed company, which, if successful, would have a positive effect on its net value, but would not materially impact year-end results.
