Ianitor International has changed its name to Beget Connect following last week`s acquisition by JSE-listed Beget Holdings.
The full staff complement has also moved into Beget`s Pretoria head offices.
Beget bought Ianitor, a specialist developer of communication software in the GSM and telecommunication fields, together with the intellectual property of British Virgin Islands-registered Hopefield Enterprise Corporation, for R8 million.
Beget Connect`s primary role is an enabler for the provision of information globally by offering enhanced services for SMS, VAS, messaging and billing.
Its new CEO, Andre Grove, says the amalgamation of the technologies of the two companies will result in exciting new developments in the connectivity arena.
Beget Holdings MD Andre Potgieter says the acquisition brings to the holding company skillsets on various switches and network configurations to develop any new telecommunications products.
"The products and technology add strength to our drive to roll-out globally as we now have our own GSM switching software. This also accelerates the development of new products and services within our other divisions."
