SITA to report a profit

Johannesburg, 27 Aug 2003

The State IT Agency (SITA), has forecast a net profit for the year to March, compared with a loss for the previous year.

"This has really re-energised all of us at SITA," says corporate communications head Wandile Zote. "We are really excited about it."

Zote says the turnaround was achieved mainly through improved efficiencies and cost-containment measures, as well as an improvement in business.

He says while revenue has improved significantly, he cannot divulge the details ahead of the official announcement.

"Targets are reviewed from time to time, and the GM for client interface, which is our sales division, is working on that.

"Every account director gets set various targets and the challenge is for them to meet those targets, not just from a financial perspective but even in terms of the service level agreements we sign with the various government departments."

Zote says the results will be announced once the minister`s availability has been confirmed.
