Labat Africa says it will report a substantial drop in earnings for the year to 29 February.
In terms of JSE definitions, this refers to a fall of more than 30%.
The group has told its shareholders that the main reasons for the earnings decline are the strong rand and weakness in international markets.
The group achieved headline earnings of 17.7c a share for the year to end-February 2003. This compared with a figure of 20.6c for the previous year.
"It is anticipated that international markets for our products will improve next year and this, together with new local opportunities, should see profits returning to prior levels in the years ahead," the group says.
Labat is a provider of business solutions to the public sector in the areas of professional management services, training, financial services, IT and outsourcing.
The group`s share closed untraded at 23c on the JSE yesterday.
